Client Highlight – Obsessed with Fitness wins the Best Leisure, Health & Fitness Business 2012

It’s fair to say that, when David DeBono opened Obsessed With Fitness in Caroline Springs in 2008, he had no expectation whatsoever of receiving a community business leadership award only four years later. But that’s exactly what happened, as he accepted the Melton Shire’s 2012 Powercor Business Excellence Award in the category of Leisure, Health & Fitness on April 27th. You see, David’s objective is not to win awards – It’s to change lives for the better.

When you see a picture of the OWF floor layout, you may be tempted to say, “Oh yeah. That’s a gym.” That would be like meeting someone new and taking note only of their clothes and the color of their shoes. You’d be missing their heart and soul. You’d be missing who they really are. OWF hopes to effect positive change in individual lives and the community at large by increasing awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle in cooperation with community and government organisations. Their work with the disadvantaged at Scope and Mambourin includes the donation of exercise equipment and instruction in fitness techniques for those who are physically unable to get to the OWF centre or for whom it is difficult to exercise on their own.
